Flyworx is a creative partnership that embraces the like-minded visions of Gold Coast artists Tammy Zarb and Keir Beck. This exciting collaboration has developed a diverse and eclectic "think tank" that seeks to integrate, engage and collaborate with local dancers, circus artists, physical theatre performers, performance makers, stunt and aerial flying performers, directors, producers, engineers and rigging specialists.
KEIR BECK + Flyworx Creative Director + Wire, Stunts, Rigging
Keir Beck is one of Australia's most experienced and sought after Stunt Rigger / Stunt Coordinators both nationally and internationally, and has been working in the film industry for 16 years. His background in adventure sports and climbing has led him to become a world-renowned specialist in the Stunt Rigging and Coordinating arena. Keir has extensive experience in all types of production, from Stage and Theatre right through to complex stunt action sequences in feature films such as: Matrix Reloaded, Matrix Revolutions, the opening sequence of Casino Royale, Sherlock Holmes: A game of Shadows, Killer Elite and most recently was Action Unit Stunt Coordinator on Mad Max 4: Fury Road in Namibia, working under director George Miller. Performers who have ridden his stunt rigs in Casino Royale and Push received a Taurus Award for 'Best High Work' and a nomination for Hardest Hit. Most recently Keir received two more Taurus Awards in LA for "Best Stunt rigging" and "Best Specialty Stunt" for Mad Max - Fury Road. Keir is the owner and Director of Inmotion Rigging, a specialist rigging company of 13 years, and CEO at the National Academy of Stunt Action & Rigging (NASAR™) and AP8 both of which are based on the Gold Coast in Australia. Keir performed and rigged in Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions, Superman Returns, Wolverine, Narnia 2 and 3, Casino Royale, Sherlock Holmes - Game of shadows and most recently was the Action Unit Stunt Co-ordinator on Mad Max - Fury Road and is currently working on the film "Bleeding Steel" starring Jackie Chan and filming in Sydney.
TAMMY ZARB + Flyworx Creative Director + Aerial Choreography
Tammy Zarb is a Movement Director, Aerial Choreographer, Performance Maker and a classically trained Dancer. She was mentored by artists of the Queensland Ballet Australian Ballet, where she received exceptional ballet training which she continues to use extensively in most of her current work. Her professional career includes 20 years of international performances, comprising of live stage shows, cruise ships productions, fashion shows, television appearances and casino showroom productions throughout Australia, Asia and The United States. In 2006 she co-founded Orlando Aerial Arts in Florida USA. Back home on the Gold Coast, she is the Artistic Director of Industry Aerial Arts which she founded in 2010 and Creative Director of Flyworx Entertainment which specialises in Vertical Wall Dance, Wire and Harness work and collaborates with local and international artists from a diverse cross mix of arts forms such as aerial, circus, dance and physical theatre. Recently, Tammy joined the Creative Team at Bleached Arts to create a site specific work called “Shifting Sands” directed by Donna Jackson and the “Playground Project” by newly formed collective “The Circus Corridor”. Both performance works were commissioned by “Bleach Festival” in 2016 with the support from the City of Gold Coast. Tammy continues to professionally develop her interests in large scale site specific work through the “Power up your Arts” mentorship program under well respected mentors Gavin Robins (Head of Movement - NIDA) and projection artist Richard Lindsay (Artists in Motion) Kevin Finnin (Motionhouse - UK). Other initiatives include YARN and Site Specific workshops with David Pledger and Joey Ruigrok. As a mentor Tammy’s former students have gone onto careers with “Cirque Du Soleil”, “Cavalia”,“Cirque De La Mer” and “Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines” and have gained entrance into renowned cirque institutes such at “Ecole National de Cirque- Montreal” and “Pendulum Aerial Arts- Oregon”.
Dreya Weber conceived and choreographed Pink’s Glitter in the Air & Try, performed on the 2010 and 2014 Grammy Awards respectively. She recently designed and choreographed the aerials for Pink’s Billboard Awards performance of Just Like Fire. Dreya was associate choreog- rapher for Michael Jackson’s This is It. She designed and choreographed aerials for all of Pink’s record breaking international tours as well as those of Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Madon- na, Cher, Christina Aguilera, Carrie Underwood, Britney Spears, Leona Lewis and Kylie Minogue. Her aerial choreography has been featured on the Billboards, MTV VMA’s, BET’s, AMA’s, the Kids Choice Awards and the televised Inaugural Ball for President Obama.
The daughter and granddaughter of engineers, Dreya continues to explore ways to use tradi- tional aerial apparatus to innovate visual tapestries. The 2016 Billboard Awards premiered a deconstructed pocket watch and fob conceived and designed by Dreya as an aerial apparatus for the singer Pink. Dreya has developed a curriculum for teaching aerial acrobatics to a students of all ages, run- ning sold-out aerial acrobatic camps. She has created aerial arts workshops for the dance de- partment at LSU, the theater department at Michigan Tech and collaborated with renown stunt coordinator, Keir Beck (Mad Max: Fury Road) at AP8 in Queensland, Australia.
Dreya co-directed and wrote the feature film Raven’s Touch in which she plays the title role. She produced and starred in The Gymnast and A Marine Story, honored with 48 awards at festivals in the US and internationally including seven ‘Best Actress’ awards. She conceived, wrote and directed the web series Caesar’s World (Funny or Die). Dreya has been featured in all the the P90X workout series and collaborated extensively with photographer Lois Greenfield, appearing in all three of her books.
